Annecy LFLP

Annecy is a lakeside town in the foothills of the French Alps. The centre of Annecy is spectacular, with a lakeside walk and a picturesque old town based around a river which flows into the lake.

There are many bars and restaurants in the centre of the historic old town, the opportunity to sail on the lake, a Chateau and extensive museum to explore, and plenty to see and do.

This is one location where you should not stay at the Ibis Budget Hotel. The Annecy Ibis Budget is well out of town on a main road and is neither near the airfield nor the town itself. You would be better advised to find accommodation in the town itself.  In 2016 we stayed at the Hotel Campanile Annecy Gare which was clean, functional and with a good cancellation policy.

A great place to spend a couple of nights, if not more, and well positioned as a stepping off point for a trip into the Alps, not being far from the altiports at Megeve and Courcheval.   Several visits have been made in the last few years including the Mini Tour de France 2.
