Bernay is a pleasant town and a useful stop over if coming up from the middle of France . We have stooped there a couple of times en route from Saumur or Blois. The airfield has fuel and there is a good restaurant there, but care needs to be taken to ensure that it is open on the day of your visit.



The main hotel in the town is the Hotel Lion d'Or. This is in the empire style, but rather faded and ragged at the edges, nor is it particularly cheap. I have always come away from it feeling slightly disappointed but there is nowhere else in a central position. In the town centre there are some reasonable restaurants.
