Good location, website says just 8 kilometres from downtown Budapest, does not seem that far but there is hill formation between the airfield and Budapest.

The alternative airfields are neither as welcoming or usefull.

Very large grass runway (200m x 1000m), bit rough, as originally just a glider field. Nice friendly people with planning facilities (East European style – cathode ray monitor on computer etc) available in the club house. Web site says Avgas available, and locals drove Rupert to local gas station for Mogas.

Ladies of the night operate during the day from two laybys in the road just outside the airfield !

Very welcoming as we had contacted well before arriving and they made sure some one was there to see us in and provide concrete tie downs and book cabs etc. Definitely contact them before going as they have made the effort to put their web site in English, they want more visitors. Cannot remember the landing fees, but not a lot, if any.

Hungary is currently outside the Euro, and so is very cheap.

Budapest a great place to visit with lots going on. There was a wine festival when we were there.
