Called in there after visiting Saumur-sur-Loire, about 30 miles to the south. Reg Whittall used to have his flying school there but he has now retired.

The airfield is nominally grass, but dirt and stones would be a more accurate description. There is now no reason to visit. Le Mans, which isn't that far away, would be a better intermediate stop. Have not visited the town of La Flèche which is on the River Loir ( a tributary of the Loire)
