We stopped here at lunch time while flying up the west coast of France, previous stop at La Rochelle about one hours flying. The airfield guides ominously mention that ULM/Microlights require prior consent to go into La Roche, something we had not put in hand. When we spoke to the tower on the radio they were very grumpy about this, but managed to give us the consent over the radio. Apparently this should be done in writing which is a bit of an obstacle.

The airfield has a very good restaurant and we had a very pleasant lunch there, leaving after refuelling.
