This is a former military airfield and its huge runways and installations c an be seen from afar. The airfield is being civilianized and relabeled Lahr- Black Forest and we called in there on our way to Donaueschingen during the Black Forest Rally. There was no significant catering at the airfield but a short walk away we found a pizza restaurant on the surrounding industrial estate. Not gastronomic, but enough to keep body and soul together.

Refuelling was straightforward and we left at 1430 for the one hour flight over the hills of the Black Forest to Donaueschingen.(RG)
