Le Thou is a microlight strip near La Rochelle with a single grass runway. 

 

There is a large aircraft parking area and the owner resides in a house he built on the airfield.  The WFAEC flying circus diverted to Le Thou with no notice due to crosswinds at the planned destination.  The owner was delighted and made us all very welcome.  No fees were charged and he insisted that we move the aircraft to his front garden for overnight parking as a footpath ran along the parking area. 

 

Taxis were available for the trip into La Rochelle but there are no facilities on the airfield.  (RWO 30.8.07 )
