Pontivy LFED

Pontivy is a small picturesque town in mid-Britanny. We called in there because our journey along the Britanny coast had been frustrated by sea fog. There was no previous intention to visit Pontivy.

The airfield is well maintained but apart from one flying instructor just about to give someone a lesson there was no one there. He gave us details of some lodgings in town but when we took a taxi there they turned out to be unsuitable, more like a British working men's club.

So instead we opted to stay at L'Hotel de Europe, a three star private hotel near the town centre which was quite charming although a bit expensive. There are the usual restaurants in the town.

I don't recall fuel being available and we left early the next day, again seeing no one at the airfield.
