Acqui Terme

This is a small grass strip near the eponymous town to the north of Genova.  It was our first stop in Italy in 2007 after travelling via Gap Tallard in the French Alps, which is the more southerly of the two main routes into Italy.

The flying time from Gap Tallard had been two hours and the onward journey to Icaro Village was to be another couple of hours. I don’t recall fuel being available at the airfield when we were there, but I do remember waiting whilst one of our number took a jerrycan to a local petrol station. There were some basic refreshments. And the airfield personnel were basically friendly.

My log shows that we spent two hours on the ground, part of which time I was fixing a blade on my propeller which had lost its pitch setting.
